About praxis academy

WE BELIEVE THE FUTURE OF CULTURE DEPENDS LARGELY ON THE WORLDVIEW OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF ENTREPRENEURS

Praxis Academy exists to equip top undergraduate students pursuing entrepreneurship through exposure to successful founders across multiple sectors and geographies, key theological and cultural learning, and a high-caliber peer community.

ANNUAL ACADEMY GATHERING

Praxis Academy accepts a select group of top undergraduates to be in the annual Praxis Academy Class through an application process. Students convene at an annual gathering each August; five-days of applied learning on Faith, Culture and Startups from world-class entrepreneurs and cultural thinkers. Students also build life-long friendships with like-minded peers who are pursuing high-impact entrepreneurship. Students have called the Academy "one of the most transformative weeks of my life."

2016 Academy will be held August 1-5, 2016 on the campus of Biola University, just outside of Los Angeles

FUTURE FOUNDERS
ApprenTiceshipS

Praxis Academy invests in up to 12 students through Future Founders each year. Unlike a traditional internship or startup program, Future Founders is an 8-week intensive that includes an apprenticeship at a high growth venture (a business, nonprofit, or social enterprise that has been through a Praxis Accelerator), where they have unprecedented access to the founder/CEO. Combined with curriculum, guest speakers, and mentorship from the Praxis team, Future Founders provides in-depth, real-world learning on how to build and grow a venture.

2016 Future Founders are selected through an application and multiple-round interview process. Applications are open until March 1.

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS,
CONTENT, & EDUCATION

Praxis Academy is partnering with a select group of colleges & universities who are seeking to lead the conversation and develop the field of Christ-centered, high-impact entrepreneurship. Partner schools have access to original content, and a number of resources to equip students, alumni, and faculty to think deeply about the intersection of theology, culture, and entrepreneurship.

Praxis also creates original content, curates resources, and takes a limited number of speaking engagements each year.

THE EXPERIENCE

100 top undergraduate students were selected for the 2015 Praxis Academy, and convened for a five-day immersive learning experience focused on the intersection of theology, culture, and entrepreneurship. Academy was led by our Faculty -- over 20 startup founders of businesses, nonprofits, and social enterprises as well as leading cultural thinkers.

2015 Academy was held August 3-7, 2015 at Gordon College, and hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.

2016 Academy will be held August 1-5, 2016. Learn more about the 2016 Academy

I do not exaggerate when I say that this was probably the most life-changing and life-giving conference I had ever been to. It was starkly different from the half-baked sense of purpose offered by the secular startup life, and the narrow Christian perspective I had grown up with. It is absolutely beautiful.

The Praxis Academy community was amazing...to be around like-minded Christians who were passionate about the same things. This was by far the best run conference I have ever attended.
— David Tang-Quan, Harvard; Praxis Academy 2014 Class

FACULTY

Praxis Academy is led by our Faculty, consisting of 20+ world class entrepreneurs and cultural thinkers.

Through a customized learning experience -- including presentations, small group sessions, roundtables, workshops, and sharing meals -- students have opportunities to connect in deep transformative ways on everything from how to start a startup, what kind of ideas we should pursue, the danger of doing good, and how to create a sustainable way of life in the oftentimes chaotic world of entrepreneurship. Below is a preview of some of the Faculty, check back often for additions, and learn more here

To be among such a great group of highly motivated, intelligent, and driven students was something I’ve been looking for and something I’ll be working on keeping throughout my last year (of school), for iron sharpens iron. The entire Praxis team and Fellows have been so inspirational.
